The rest of my

complementary(see previous post) dandelion kit. I used the pearly water colours from The Works on some of the dandelions. I've also made my first Christmas card of the year. The glitter hasn't photographed very well but it does look much better in real life. I'd welcome any comments.

Excellent service

I ordered a couple of stamps from Little Claire Designs. When the order arrived one of them was out of stock but was promised within a few days. The following day a package arrived with one of their card kits using the stamp I had ordered. I emailed offering to pay for it (nice kit) but was told to keep it with their compliments & the stamp had come in & would be sent immediately. It arrived today & all of this happened in less than a week. I made up one of the cards from the kit & I love it!

Tag rules

The "rules" of the game:
~ Each player answers the questions about themselves.
~ At the end of the post, the player then tags 5-6 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know they’ve been tagged and asking them to read your blog.
~ Let the person who tagged you know when you’ve posted your answer.

I've been tagged

Thanks a lot Pam. The old brain's a bit fuzzy this morning but let's have a go

What was I doing 10 years ago
I was working in the local post office both on the counter & doing accounts. Both of our sons were still living at home so I was having many sleepless nights waiting for them to get in - lol.

5 things on todays to do list
1. Make my granddaughters birthday card.
2. Do the inserts for the cards for my sandwich shop box.
3. Have lunch with my DIL & granddaughter.
4. Have a play with some stamps
5. Have a play with my Cuttlebug
I don't work Thursday so having a lazy day.

Snacks I enjoy
I love chocolate but trying not to eat it at the moment as I need to lose weight. I love this time of year - strawberries, nectarines, raspberries etc etc. I also love rice cakes just the plain original ones - yum!

Things I would do if I were a millionaire
First thing would be to make sure family & friends were ok & the second thing would be to retire immediately. Those who know me know how much I want that - lol.

Places I have lived
Aberdeen - where I was born & brought up.
Glasgow - where I went to college
Guildford - where I moved to after college & where I still live.

The people I will now tag
Joanie
Kath
AnneMarie
Cal

Hope I've done this right

Before the rain fell........

My garden was looking lovely but the flowers are a bit battered now. Luckily I
took some photos beforehand.I'm not clever enough to make a decoupage sheet out of these but I've made some backgound sheets. When I get round to using them on a card - lol- I'll post a pic.

What a numpty!!!

I've just realised that the anniversary card that I posted earlier was not what the customer requested. Ooops!!!! When I delivered it, she looked at it a bit strangely then said 'that's lovely thank you'. I'm always saying to people 'Write it down because I have a terrible memory' She didn't & neither did I!!! I shall have to go visit her today & ask if she'd like me to make the one she requested! Definitely think it's time to give up work lol.

More Swiss Dots

I seem to have done nothing but 'bug'. My friend & neighbour became a grandmother again today - for the 4th time so I had to make a card for the new parents & an anniversary card for a customer. I've also had an order for another Thank You card for the Scouts.
How I wish I could stay home & make cards!! Not much chance of that yet although each day brings retirement a little closer. WooHoo!!

Scouts

OH is chairman of our local scout group so I sometimes get asked to make cards for them. An opportunity to use my new'Bug'. Obviously used the Swiss dots folder but unfortunately the ribbon has not photographed very well. It is exactly the same colour as the pearlescent card & the fleur de lys. I made both cards the same so neither of the leaders thought they had a better card than the other - lol. I was quite pleased with the way they turned out.

I am so lucky

For ages now I have resisted getting a cuttlebug. I have my old Sissix & the embossing folders work perfectly well in there so I felt I couldn't justify the cost. Chatting to my DIL a couple of weeks back & she told me No1 son was going to the States on business so just said if he could fit one in his case I'd be happy to pay the American price for one. I did know however that he wouldn't have time for shopping in his busy schedule so expected nothing.
When we returned with our granddaughter at lunchtime today there was a Cuttlebug waiting for me! Not from the States cos he had no time for shopping or room in his luggage but both my sons had chipped in for it from a site over here. Bless their hearts.xx
The best bit is the money I had put aside for it I can now spend on folders - lol.

Just a bit tired & down

First full day at work since I had that awful virus & I'm so tired I don't know what to do with myself. Already had a nap when I came in from work-lol Desperately need to make some cards over the weekend - have 5 birthdays next week & not organised for any of them. Won't be doing them tonight that's for sure. Going to lunch at son & dil's tomorrow when he gets back from a business trip to the States. He's had no spare time to go shopping unfortunately otherwise I would have given him a long list. He did manage to get his head sunburnt though!!!
Oh dear this turned out to be a whinge & it wasn't meant to be that at all. I shall be so glad to retire at the end of the year - might find time to do more of what I want to do - or not-lol

Remember When

We've had a beautiful couple of days here in Surrey. On Monday our granddaughter spent all morning in & out of her paddling pool while I sat with my feet up next to the pool. This is the first time this year that's been out so she was over the moon. While I was hanging the washing out a dragonfly landed on my outstretched arm. I so needed someone there with a camera just at that instant but it wasn't to be.
I have actually got round to making & have sold a card using the Remember When decoupage from Lapashe.com. It has photographed very badly - no - I have photographed it very badly - so the lovely sheen doesn't show very well & the colours aren't quite right :o(. Can't wait for the new set to come out!

Just trying out my new sig. Woohoo! thanks Pam.

A little bit of crafting

The first I've done for a little while. I don't 'do stamping' but couldn't resist this one. :o) I had actually stamped some images a few weeks back & sat out in the sun yesterday with my watercolours, rediscovered some lovely card blanks & thought my lady would look good on one of them so here she is.

Grandma do I look gorgeous?

asked my soon to be 3 years old granddaughter after she applied her 'lispick' lol. She doesn't have a bruise above her left eye either - that's eyeshadow lol

We all had to have a share of her makeup including Grangrand & Daddy. Wow did they look gorgeous!

She has been helping to wash the cars today & I think Grangrand got wetter than the cars. She has a very good action with a hose pipe!

Playday

Well playday at Pippa's has arrived & I've been unable to get there due to a horrible virus which has left me weak & trembling, lacking in energy & very, very emotional.:o(( I'm so disappointed because I was really looking forward to meeting some Imag-e-nationers again. I was also hoping to go to the Craft Barn with Pippa on Saturday but I have had to cancel that too.
My Remember When decoupage has arrived & it's lovely but I have neither the energy nor the inclination to make cards at the moment.
I have been able to sit out in the garden for a while both yesterday & today which has been lovely.

Pam if you read this, by the time I post again I promise I will have some cards to post :o)
